February 2001. Boston Operatic Society is very proud to announce that its Honorary Member, Mrs. Patricia Whittle, has received a Community Service Award from Boston Borough Council. This was given in recognition of her long-standing service to B.O.S.. She was a founder member in 1964, and has served continuously on the Committee since then. She has been Chairman twice, and has held all of the other Offices. As well as this, Pat has taken an active role in the production and performance side of B.O.S.'s activities. She has taken all sorts of roles, from Katisha in The Mikado, to Jewel in The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. As a producer, she has also excelled, and her proudest moments have been the staging of the E.N.O. version of The Merry Widow and the award of a Regional Prize by N.O.D.A for her production of Cabaret.
